Threat of frost still in the air

Popped down the allotment yesterday, finished off the path and put some bark chips down on weed cover around the children's raised bed. Wanted to go down today to do some planting but it forecast frost this week and was pouring down. Potted on some leeks and sweet corn instead, weather didn't turn out too bad.

Georgia planted some crysathemums and soaked them - see pic below. 2 year olds don't quite understand water volume just yet !

Might plant some baby cucumbers to grow in the potting shed. Am trying a Jamie Oliver variety 'Beth alpha' as the children love cucumbers!

Good Friday potato planting

Had a productive few hours down the allotment today. Managed to prepare the children's raised bed, plant a black currant 'Big Ben' and get 4 rows of potatoes in. Charlotte and a main crop variety that Ella helped me with.

My other half heather came down with the girls and pasty for lunch. Great now I have sorted the paving out so we can sit at the front of the shed, bit chilly today though. A good day but feeling tired now! Chilling out now watching the masters golf - come on Rory!
